LSR - Silicone (SIL-PRO series)
Silicone rubber is widely used in medical, automotive, aerospace, electrical,
and industrial applications, because of its unique characteristics in flexibility
over wide rage of temperature, high resistance to compression set, a wide
range of viscosity, and higher resistance to chemicals.
Recently, there are increasing needs for LSR molding. As a result, the needs
require better performance in injection molding machines to meet more
complex shape and higher accuracy LSR parts. Sodick Plustech offers
a dedicated design for LSR machines with the V-LINE Plunger system,
"SIL-PRO" series. Through the experience with ultra-precision thermoplastic
injection molding machines, SIL-PRO series provide outstanding performance
on your LSR molding needs.

V-LINE Plunger LSR System vs. Conventional LSR System

CONVENTIONAL SCREW SYSTEM |

 |
| While metering by small diameter transfer screw, screw position is stationary,
so that it will provide very stable material density. |
Screw is reciprocating while metering. Material feeding pressure from pump apply from
screw to nozzle. |
 |
 |
| The V-Line Plunger System is equipped with a patented backflow prevention, which is mechanically engineered to
shut off the material feeding pressure before injection (EXACT DOSING system). The V-Line Plunger system is built to provide
an exceptional low speed low pressure injection control. |
In the conventional reciprocating screw system, it is extremely difficult to
control low viscosity material shot size. The "Check Ring" is at open position
when metering is finished. The material leakage at injection is evident due to
the feeding pressure from screw side. (Pressure has to be compensated to close
the check ring). |
LINEAR MOTOR TECHNOLOGY
Sodick Plustech develops the injection valve using Linear Motor technology as a
drive. By using a linear motor to control the spool of injection valve, the
step response becomes 10 times faster than that of conventional servo valve
(3msec). As a result, V-LINE Plunger achieves excellent injection control
including acceleration and deceleration of the injection speed, vp switch-over
position stability, and linearity of molding profile.
