Dry Ice Cleaning in Injection Molding - Who Needs It?

There’s no doubt that molds are a mission critical asset and require timely, proper & efficient maintenance to ensure uptime, part quality and good OEE scores. And there’s no doubt they come in a variety of surface finishes and textures. Traditional in-machine cleaning methods can not only create extended down time, but can cause unnecessary mold wear to parting lines, sealing surfaces and various surface finishes. This presentation discusses case studies of the top 5 reasons molders are turning to dry ice solutions to clean their molds, their injection screws, and occasionally deflash or deburr plastic parts, as well as the surface preparation of plastic parts prior to painting or bonding.
